At Momsilk, your child’s safety is our top priority. We understand that carrying your baby is an act of trust. That is why we subject our products to rigorous testing carried out by independent laboratories to ensure complete safety and optimal ergonomic comfort.
1. International Safety Standards
Our baby carriers are tested and approved to the world’s most stringent safety standards.
* Europe (CEN): Complies with standard EN 13209-2:2015. This European standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods for soft baby carriers. It guarantees the strength of the fabrics, the sturdiness of the fastenings and the absence of small detachable parts.
* United States (ASTM): Complies with the ASTM F2236 standard. This American standard ensures that the product is structurally safe for carrying infants and young children, with rigorous load and durability tests.
2. Quality of Materials
Contact with your baby’s skin must be healthy and safe.
* Fabric Certification: All our materials (cotton, nylon, buckles) are selected for their durability and safety. We use textiles that meet the criteria of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, guaranteeing that they are free from harmful chemicals, allergenic dyes and heavy metals.
* BPA- and Phthalate-Free: The plastic components and safety buckles are tested to ensure they are free from toxic substances.
3. Ergonomics and Physiological Carrying
The development of the hips and spine is at the heart of our design.
* ‘M’ position: The design of the Momsilk baby carrier promotes an ergonomic sitting position that supports the child’s thighs right down to the knees, allowing the hips to settle into the natural ‘M’ position (frog position).
* Back support: Our structure respects the child’s natural ‘C’-shaped curvature of the spine whilst providing optimal lumbar support for the parent.
4. Momsilk Quality Commitment
* Quality Control: Every production batch undergoes a manual inspection before dispatch.
* Load Testing: Our baby carriers are tested to withstand loads of up to 20 kg without structural failure.
